How it works
-
A look at where you are
A free consultation covering your company, your year end, what is outstanding and what you are currently paying. We quote a fixed annual or monthly fee.
-
We take over the handover
Switching is easier than people expect. We write to your old accountant for the records, register as your agent with HMRC and Companies House, and pick things up from there. You do almost nothing.
-
Year-round, not just year-end
Accounts and Corporation Tax filed ahead of the deadline, deadlines flagged in advance, and advice through the year rather than a surprise bill after it.
Deadlines and penalties
Annual accounts are due at Companies House nine months after your year end. Late filing penalties start at £150 and reach £1,500 at six months - and they double if you were also late the year before.
Corporation Tax is payable nine months and one day after the year end, with the CT600 return due at twelve months. HMRC charges penalties and interest separately from Companies House, so a late year end can cost you twice.
The confirmation statement is due annually. Persistent failure to file can see the company struck off and directors disqualified. We track all of these dates for you so none of them is ever a surprise.
Common questions
Is switching accountants difficult?
No. You sign a short authority, we write to your current accountant for the records - which they are professionally obliged to hand over - and we take it from there. Most switches take a couple of weeks and you can move at any point in the year.
Should I pay myself a salary or dividends?
Usually a combination. A modest salary preserves your National Insurance record and is deductible for the company; dividends are taxed at lower rates but come out of post-Corporation-Tax profit. The right balance shifts with the thresholds each year, which is why we review it annually.
What does it cost?
A fixed fee agreed before we start, monthly or annually, so you know exactly what the year costs. Book a free consultation and we will quote you.
My accounts are already late. Can you help?
Yes, and the sooner the better - the penalties escalate with time. We can file quickly and, where there are grounds, help appeal.
Do you handle payroll and VAT too?
Yes, both, alongside the company work if you want everything under one roof.
